Many wonder why they see photographers at sporting events with
lenses the size of tree trunks--lenses that cost several thousand dollars. Simply it all has
to do with image quality. When a company such as Canon manufactures their
professional lenses they use the finest glass elements. Thus providing
results that are extravagant in all aspects. Another reason photographers
use these quality lenses is to capture the action that is not in the immediate
foreground. Telephoto or super telephoto lenses (which is the vernacular)
allow the photographer to "fill the frame." This produces a superior image
since less cropping is necessary. As you can see, all aspects of my work
are conducted using some of the finest tools available.

I take great pride in owning Canon
gear. I have used
Canon camera gear since I began my work in photography. In fact, my first
camera was a Canon manual focus T-90. Gratefully, modern times brings a
computer generated auto focusing system. These modern day marvels
incorporate such complex algorithms that is would be impossible for
anyone to focus faster with a manual focusing camera. Additionally, Canon
has built one of the finest focusing system available. They claim their
auto focusing system is the fastest in the world--as of the release of the EOS
1D. I cannot qualify their
fastest in the market statement since I have never done any comparison testing--I
have never used Nikon gear; however, I can tell you from personal experience that Canon's auto focusing
system is amazing. More notably, the images produced by Canon's
professional line of cameras and lenses is unparalleled as far as I am concerned.
Of course, I could use less costly gear, but that would be like asking a pianist
to use a piano of little quality. The results would be noticeable, and to
me quality is one area I will not sacrifice. One of the most pleasing
aspects of photography is snapping the shutter knowing the planned image was
captured for prosperity.
If anyone would like more information on the aforementioned,
please feel free to email. I enjoy discussing camera equipment and
techniques, and I also enjoy sharing my knowledge.
